A return to the I-70 Speedway is in store for Peter Cozzolino as the Hoosier State veteran seeks redemption on the famed high-banks.

Indianapolis, Indiana veteran, Peter Cozzolino has had the next race on the 2007 Schedule for the ASA Late Model Series Northern Division circled on his calendar over and over again when the schedule was released in October of 2006.
The wicked fast 0.543 Mile High-Banked Paved Oval of the I-70 (MO) Speedway, located East of Kansas City in Odessa, Missouri is the site for Race Number Two on the 2007 ASALMS North schedule, the Missouri 100. In three overall ASALMS appearances in 2006, Cozzolino recorded One Top Five and Two Top 10s in Northern Division competition.
But the race that Cozzolino remembers most is the lone ASALMS Challenge Division event in the Show-Me State back on July 8, 2006. The 37-year-old Hoosier State veteran led the first 147 laps of the Missouri 150 Presented by Odessa Pool and Spa before a spirited battle with eventual winner, Landon Cassill resulted in Cozzolino facing the wrong way in Turn Three with three laps to go relegating Cozzolino to a disappointing 13th place finish.
Now with the 2007 season in full swing, the first of two ASALMS Northern Division appearances at the famed Odessa, Missouri high banks has the Indianapolis, Indiana veteran seeking some redemption and in the process, propel him to the top of the 2007 ASALMS Northern Division title chase.
"We're looking forward to the I-70 show as it is one of the places for a potential win. We have been strong there in the past and close to a win but luck plays a roll there more than any other track we run." Cozzolino stated as he looks ahead at his best chance at grabbing his first career ASALMS Feature Win. "Things happen fast there and many good race cars end up on the hook there. Patience is an asset at this track." Cozzolino added.
The 37-year-old is eager to get back on the track and thereÕs no tonic better than one of his favorite race tracks! Cozzolino hasnÕt raced since the last ASALMS Challenge Division event back on May 19, 2007!
Cozzolino and crew made the trip to the Grundy County (IL) Speedway in Morris, Illinois on Saturday May 26, 2007 for the 1st annual Bob Milner Memorial 125 Presented by BaileyÕs Carpet One. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other ideas and forced ASALMS Officials to postpone the show. A Make-Up Date is ÒTo Be DeterminedÓ and will be announced soon.
Cozzolino, who finished second in the ASALMS North season opener at OÕReilly (IN) Raceway Park at Indianapolis; The A.S.I. Limited 100 Presented by Lucas Oil Products and Ed Martin Automotive Group back on April 28, 2007, sits 10 points behind Current ASALMS Northern Division Points Leader and Season Opener Winner, Brian Campbell (190-180) in the chase for the 2007 crown.
Campbell is currently not entered in the second race of the ASALMS Northern Division season in the Show-Me State, so Cozzolino will take over the ASALMS Northern Division points lead by merely taking the green flag during ARP Bodies/Aluminum Racing Products Qualifying at I-70.
For the remainder of the 2007 season, Peter Cozzolino and his Indianapolis, Indiana based Cozzolino Motorsports Team is running the full schedule of events in both the ASALMS Challenge and Northern Division with hopes of capturing both Championships and is widely considered a strong favorite to accomplish the feat.
In ASALMS Challenge Division competition, Cozzolino now sits in Seventh in the season long points chase in the ASALMS Challenge Division, just 33 points out of the Top Five. So far in Five ASALMS Challenge Division events, Cozzolino has One Top Five, which is a season high Third Place at the Alamo 200 on March 3, 2007 at the San Antonio (TX) Speedway to go with Four Top 10 finishes.
